Larry of Omaha emailed me: "Chris, if the Strong Sultan of Spinach thought it cold enough to pull on his red flannel union suit, it must be cold! I've been wearing mine here in Omaha for the past six weeks. Like you I wear them to bed instead of PJ's. Keep warm, Larry."
This from Sarah of Garden City, Michigan: "Chris, my ten year old son has recently been introduced to old Popeye cartoons. My husband showed him your posting of Popeye holding up his red flannel underwear. Now our boy wants 'underwear like Popeye!' Guess we'll hurry up and order him and his older brother red union suits online and place under the tree for Christmas morning. Thanks for the gift idea! ...Sarah"

I heard back from Sarah today, "Chris, I said we would have to buy our boys union suits like Popeye's for Christmas. Wanted to let you know we did and the boys love them. It's hard to get them off for washing. My husband has been wearing union suits here in Michigan since he was a boy and now our boys are fans."
