For many of us, especially in the northern portion of the U.S. and Canada, it is Union Suit Weather.  I've been wearing union suits 24/7 for several weeks now in northern Idaho. Here at my lake home in the trees, lower temperatures, cold rain and some snow has had me pulling on warm, comfortable long underwear not just to sleep in but all day long. And, for a Union Suit Fan, that's alright with me.

Union suits come in a variety of colors these days as you probably know. No longer is a guy restricted to only red and white winter underwear. You get choices in the modern era!

Thanks, Men. Lookin' good and comfortable.

  1. I’ve been wearing my union suits since early September. Both day and night. I have red ones, white ones and a couple gray ones. Most of mine are red. That is the color I prefer.

    1. Myron, it is that time of year for sure. And it is nice to have a closet full of union suits to pull on and stay comfortable; for me they are primarily white, cream, or grey. Also this year I found some short sleeved long legged union suits on Ebay, and they are great to wear for a longer part of the year. Unfortunately I can't seem to find them commercially any longer, though it is now long past the time of wearing short sleeved suits.

    2. I liked the short-sleeved, long-legged style too. When I was in college I got them from the old Penney's catalog, but that's been thirty years ago. I still have one like that I bought up in Canada years ago, a Stanfields, though it's "Canadian weight" which is to say fairly heavy fabric.
Where I live (Baltimore) it hasn't been too cold yet, except last weekend, not yet long johns weather. And I did incorporate my red union suit into a Halloween costume (lumberjack). I though we'd be outside at the bar a lot due to Covid safety so it would be sensible to wear as well, but one of our party, not getting the weather memo, wore a skimpy costume so we pretty much stayed inside.

  2. Wow! Look at all those colors. Makes me look pretty conservative by comparison. I have mostly red union suits followed by some grey, an oatmeal heather and one black one. Here in NE Ohio I have been wearing my union suits at night for at least a month and even sometimes all day long. The 24/7 buttoned up weather is just around the corner. In anticipation of the cold season I am ordering a navy blue Duofold union suit. Haven't had a navy one for many years. Quite often I wear unions with a short sleeve shirt and I like to have the colors compliment each other. I can make just about any shirt look presentable with the colors of union suits I have. Here's to our collective warmth. Buckeye Mike

  3. Paul of Castlerock, CO emailed to say he had worn union suits since he was a little boy. Since he is a die-hard Denver Broncos Fan like RC who makes wagers on the Broncos, he prefers Orange Union Suits. For years he had his wife dye his white union suits orange to wear on game days and other times. Now, he is glad you can actually buy orange ones. He has several orange and blue union suits to support his favorite football team.... Chris
