Tom and RC Don't Deliver this Football Season But....
Several of you emailed me to ask if Tom and RC had wagered on football again this year. If you have been following this blog for several years, you know that when Tom and RC make a bet on football or politics, the loser is required to appear in public wearing nothing but shoes, maybe a hat, and a suit of long red underwear. So, I contacted Tom to find out if they wagered this year. He replied:
"No, Chris, no wager this year. Too bad because it's loads of fun, especially for the winner. I think RC, the Denver Bronco FANatic that he is, wouldn't take my offer to bet on another Denver - Kansas City game because he knew the ponies would hardly show up to play serious ball even though they had a new coach and a great new quarterback. He wasn't going to be caught in public once again in his long red underwear, not this soon. Maybe next year.
However, he and a buddy of his, 'Stanley Steamer' of Georgia, decided to wear their red union suits for 'good luck,' both rooting for Stan's team the Georgia Bulldogs who were playing in this year's College Championship Game against TCU. Apparently their suits of long red underwear were lucky because the bulldogs had their way with the horned frogs emerging with a final score on January 9th of 65-7! I've included the photos their wives took of them, both comfortably watching the game separately that night in their 'lucky' union suit underwear at their own homes, located over 1500 miles apart.
Maybe, RC and I will have a new Union Suit Football Wager for you and your blog readers next year... Tom"

DeleteWell, Max, you didn’t have to wait til' baseball season afterall, because Stanley and I enjoyed a super superbowl, relaxing in our union suit underwear. What a game, one of the better ones in memory. Both teams played outstandingly... no real losers … RC
DeleteThose photos of me enjoying a summer day on my bike wearing a red union suit after losing one of the few wagers to RC was about 8 to 10 years ago. Kansas City has beaten the Broncos ever since then, so it's RC who typically ends up in public in his red underwear for our wager payoffs. LOL.... Tom
