Spring Has Sprung
So, some of us have changed into whiter, lighter Union Suits, anticipating a warmer season!
Well this might be pushing it a little too much...better wait for summer to wear this one , Buckeye!!
I would also like to be able to buy these if they are still available. The one in the pic I bought at Sears on a close out table in the mid 1990’s……Buckeye Mike
I was able to purchase two of these athletic union suits from JCPenney company back in 1970. There was a whole table full of them. Haven’t been able to purchase any since… Rhode Island, Randall
I’m still seeing temps drop to the 20’s at night so I’m not quite ready to go light weight yet. Some days have been cold and damp enough to don the wooly blend Stanfield’s to ward off the chill. Once warm weather arrives, I would give some consideration to an athletic union if I could find one.
No Clorox, Rob. I'm wearing my new Indera union suit after only four or so washings, so that underwear has not had a chance to get dingy looking as it no doubt will after a couple dozen washings later on.... Chris
I have several Athletic Union Suits myself, In fact my wife just folded two of them in today's laundry. She didn't make any comments, just smiled. I had bought several from a place in Athens,Alabama, called Gray & Holt. And a couple more from a place in New York, called Friedman Hosiery, back in 2005. They may still have some. Also had summer weight Chock, I believe. Thanks for the picture Buckeye, you've got a great collection from what I've seen. Rich, a button-down guy from Buffalo, New York.
My pleasure concerning the picture Rich. I do indeed have quite the collection. I’ve been “a fan” for many years and been building that collection for some time now. While I’m at it, thank you for your story as well. It’s always good to hear from a fellow button-down guy and even better to hear his story.
What was I thinking? Started to slow down wearing Union suits in March. Sat around being chilled. Last week I went back to indera suits and been very comfortable. In fact ordered two more and the
I have an athletic suit that I bought years ago and I love it. I would like to buy more. Are they still made?
