A Potpouri of Union Suits!
Don't miss my latest posting on Union Suit Fans in the Limelight, featuring a Toastmaster giving a speech in his "favorite suit!"
Wright's Union Suits for men and boys were so popular 150-170 years ago, store owners said they walked right off the shelves! They were a tradition; but you can't buy them in stores now days:
Steamboat Springs, Colorado has an annual Winter Carnival in February. And, Cedar Springs, Michigan holds their city wide Red Flannel Festival in October. When you go, be sure to wear your
union suit like this old-timer.

There are 16 parts to a Union Suit! Who would have thought. I recognize eleven of them. |
Hope his button pulls off that flap before the missle explodes!
In October I was lucky enough to find a vintage, red, new old stock, Wright's union suit on ebay and am featured in it on the U S Fan posting for January 1st. I wish I could find more as the fit and quality are top notch. Their motto should have been, "You won't go wrong with Wright's".------Retro Jeff in Illinois
ReplyDeleteGood for you, Retro....Wright's must have been a well made union suit. Happy to hear your found one!...Chris
DeleteI thought the ToastMaster’s favorite suit speech on “union suit fans in the limelight” blog was great. So funny that he really did turn the tables on that old adage of imagining your audience in their underwear! I’ve watched that video three or four times and laugh out loud every time. It’s a winner….
