Hope you wore your favorite underwear, Union Suits, no doubt! I know, too hot in most parts of the U.S. Well, so what? Happy you went for it!

I wore my red union suit all day in honor of National Underwear Day. Temps were in 60’s so not to warm for wearing it! I also wear a union suit for my pajamas.
ReplyDeleteGood for you mj! I figured you would be participating up in North Dakota (if I remember correctly). I wore a red union suit that day myself although I forgot until the next day it was Underwear Day, nationally speaking. For guys like you and me, everyday is underwear (union suit) day. And since I don't own any PJ's, union suits are my choice too for bedtime wear. Thanks for checking in and stay buttoned... Chris
DeleteSam from northern lower Michigan was in his WHITE short sleeve ankle length cotton summer weight Hanes union suit. Sure wish you could still walk into any men's store and replace same.

DeleteI am wearing a modified short sleeve short leg union suit today. Temp in the 80’s. I took an old grey union suit and cut off the arms at shoulder and legs a ways above the knee. Not like the ones we could buy in the past but it works. Prefer long legs and arms but it is a humid day today so I made my own shorty out of an old unionsuit.

DeleteHaving just come off a very rough July that rocked me to my core, National Underwear Day caught quite unaware and unprepared. However, in true Buckeye Mike fashion, I did "celebrate" the following day by flashing the secretary at work with my baby blue printed boxer shorts. And this was not just a little peek but a full frontal, pants on the floor view. The whole thing was an unplanned accident. Now this woman is the proverbial dirty old lady and while she tried to act embarrassed, my co-worker Pete and I agreed that she most likely enjoyed the showing. Pete and I thought the incident was hilarious. Admittedly a somewhat unique way to commemorate National Underwear Day. Just had to share.
ReplyDeleteIn the interest of preserving what might be left of my good name, I'm going to explain just how I managed to flash our secretary. The building where I work has literally acres of landscaping that needs to be maintained and the custodial staff is tasked with that job. It usually takes 4 or 5 of us all day to mow. The custodians' office is the first room to the left when you go in the service entrance. In order to not be littering the building with grass clippings, we change clothes when we are done mowing. Since almost never does anybody come back to our area of the building, we usually just change in our office where our lockers are located. Well on this particular day I had just undone my pants and let them drop to the floor when our secretary popped in the door. As I hastily tried to pull up my pants, I must have stepped on my belt or a pant cuff or something because the pants did not cooperate with me. As I said, she is the proverbial dirty old lady so Pete and I didn't think her embarrassment was genuine and we both thought the incident was quite funny. And no I haven't suffered any repercussions. It was definitely an accident albeit a funny one.
