Cold Realities: Prepare or Get Caught Short
- David Lais of the Old Farmer’s Almanac warns we "should either stock up on long underwear or patch any holes in our existing suits of long johns or do both." Breathlessly, he cautions, "I repeat, update your winter wardrobe soon with several suits of warm long underwear. There’s a good chance that union suits will be in short supply come January."
Is a September Surprise in store for us? Fall comes a callin' today! Don't let it ketch ya not wearin' your longhandles! The first day of fall is today, Sunday, Sept. 22nd. The autumn equinox official beginning time: 8:44 a.m. That means, Jack Frost is just around the corner for nearly all of us. In fact, snow is falling in the Rocky Mountains at this moment. Better have your union suits washed, dried, ironed and ready to wear.
Prepare now for a cold winter to avoid being surprised!! If not, when winter knocks on your door, you'll be caught unaware without enough underwear ( the long, buttoned-up, back door variety, that is) to get you through the coming months.
I’ve got mine on! I have several pair of union suits so I am ready for the cold weather ahead! A buttoned up unionsuit fan here!

Those guys look really stunned! I'm surprised they didn't jump right out of their union suits!

It's still a little warm in SD for long underwear. I'm sure we are not far from the cold.
ReplyDeleteChris and two other of these five guys are wearing short sleeved Union Suits. I bet it won’t be long before long sleeved underwear is chosen…. I will…. Bill
ReplyDeleteBill: I've already switched to long sleeved union suits as the weather is turning cooler up here in northern Idaho, not far from Canada. In fact, I'm sitting here in one adding my comments...Chris
