  1. Back in the mid 1990s when my son was in the high school band, I went to the football games too, to watch the band at half time. Being in Wisconsin in the fall, the weather can get a bit cool or beyond. I was always in long underwear at that time of the year, so layering up was nothing new to me. But some of the football players wore long underwear too. A couple of the players wore red union suits under their uniforms. Then some of the players wore the two piece set variety and I think there was even a couple guys that wore tights or UnderArmour under the uniform too. The uniforms legs ended just below the knees and the tops were short (not long enough to stay tucked into the pants) with short sleeves. If it was cold when they played the game it was easy to see who was shivering and who was comfortable. Of course, besides the players wearing long underwear, I usually wore two layers of long underwear under my clothes to stay warm.

  2. Hey Annonymous: I bet your son was wearing long underwear then too. I wore red union suits under my band uniform when I marched in the band at half time football games in the fall. That was back in the late 1980's.
