Like those others needing a lift in Ladders and Long Handles, Buckeye Mike requires a ladder to change a burned out light bulb... Stretchhhhh!!
Mike reports: "This union suit is a Carhartt like they don’t make any more. That’s a shame because I really like them. Until next time………Buckeye"
No kidding, a White Carhartt Union Suit ??!! I thought they only came in the color red! ...Chris
Yes and no Chris. Currently all Carhartt offers is red union suits and unfortunately they are way different from past ones. The material is thinner and the trap door design is inferior in my opinion. This sentiment is shared by many people who have given feedback on the current design. I have no idea how old this white union suit is. I bought it from an ebay seller about two years ago. It was still in the original unopened packaging but I didn’t check for a copyright date. I really do wish Carhartt would return to their old design as that was one of my favorites and judging from what others have said I’m not alone on that assessment……Buckeye Mike
ReplyDeleteYou have a rare find there Buckeye Mike with that white Carhartt! You are so right about the new design. In the Fall I was looking to replace my 15? year old mended, faded to salmon, Carhartt but changed my mind when I saw the redesigned back side. I ended up buying some vintage, new old stock, brands on ebay at a good price. When they say "Made in USA" on the package I find they always fit well. When I have purchased new unions, in my size, in recent years, I find the sleeves go down to my knuckles and the crotch goes half way to my knees. I occasionally see one on eBay marked with two size numbers: chest and trunk. That was back when customer satisfaction was a priority! ------Retro Jeff in Illinois
