International Brotherhood of Union Suit Fans!

The month is more than half over, and we've got a ways to go in recognizing all the great union suit fans who have supported this blog by sending in their stories and photos. Of course, one of the best is Joe of NYC, a great friend who resides in a favorite city of mine. Yes, I do get out of Idaho occasionally.

Joe and I have shared a bunch of stories, photos, and fun in the past.

When I haven't been able to find a published photo, wanting to include in Union Suit Fan or Union Suit Fans in the Limelight, Joe was there!

Like this one, for example, featured in Life Magazine of a young recruit on a troop train who had stripped down to his union suit, socks and hat, and made his way through the train cars in his underwear on his way to boot camp:

For Joe always putting his mind to finding photos and stories I had remembered and wished to use but couldn't find, I am eternally appreciative! Joe has been a contributor with stories of his own too, from "stuffed socks," freezing tenement houses, Grant Wood paintings and, my favorite, priests who wore union suits under their robes and vestments in "Holy Union Suits" posted March 5, 2017:

Like the rest of us across the country, Joe survived Covid, holed up for a year or so in his New York apartment, safely wearing a mask and covered by his union suits, the ankles of which stuffed into his socks:

Comfortable in his own skin (and long underwear) and loving living in the Big Apple, I salute my buddy, Joe of NYC, an asset to our fraternity!
